Tonight is bittersweet. I'm very pleased to send off $556.82 to the Starfish Foster Home in China, and we had blogover recipient send a $100 donation directly to them, totaling $656.82 raised this past month by our volunteer designers. It's kind of sad for me to give this up as live moves on, but I think we can be very proud of what's we've accomplished this past year. In July, August, and September we raised a total of $1890.87 for the Starfish Foster Home. That makes a total of $6189.86 raised, plus several hundred dollars that we don't have accounted for that were sent to cover mailing costs in the fall of 2007 to send Christmas presents to children with the Chung Yi orphanage in Taiwan.
I'd like to thank my good friend Rebecca for starting up and expanding this with me. I'd like to thank Melissa for joining our ranks and teaching us so much... and making me want to learn how to make cool animated graphic like she can! Thank you to Danielle for your beautiful work. And a BIG thank you to Judi for stepping up, completing many volunteer designs, and creating a gallery so you can continue to view the charity designs created over the past year. You're an amazing bunch of women bursting with talent. Thank you once again for sharing your talents for these children.
All good things must come to an end... and so must Blogovers with Love. We are no longer accepting blogs to redesign and have finished with your blogs in process. We're all going on to happy things. Some of us have found our children and have brought them home or will be adopting them very soon. Other volunteers have for hire blog design businesses, and would be very happy to continue to design blogs for you.
Over the past year our volunteers have raised over $6300 to benefit children in orphanages in Taiwan and China. What started a couple of pre-adoptive mamas wanting to raise money to ship Christmas presents to children residing in an orphanage in Taiwan blossomed in to much more than we imagined. Thank you to those of you who's blogs we've designed and have donated graciously to our charities. We couldn't have done this without your patience and generousity.
History of Blogovers with Love: The first blogovers completed in November and December of 2007 helped help ship Christmas gifts to children at Chung Yi orphanage in Taiwan. Blogovers since then have raised $705 for the "Picture the Future" project to furnish and decorate a new group home for orphaned teenagers with Chung Yi. We sent $100 to help cover funeral costs for an infant that passed away while living at St. Lucy's Center in Taiwan, as well as $100 to Half the Sky to help children in orphanages in China during this winter's blizzards. Blog designs completed in April, May, and June 2008 raised $3393.99 benefitting Half the Sky. Designs completed in July, August, and September 2008 raised $1890.87 benefitting The Starfish Foster Home. Thank you for all your help!

Donation of $691.85 sent to the Starfish Foster Home in China
I'm happy to report that I've forwarded donations totaling $691.85 to the Starfish Foster Home in China today. Amanda's blog about taking care of these special needs babies is at http://chinesestarfish.blogspot.com/ and is a very interesting read if you'd like to peek in on what she does there. We'll be sending donations to the Starfish Foster Home for the next two months, so hopefully we'll be able to do a lot more good for them too.
We've now raised over $5,000 with your donations. I can hardly believe that what started as just me and later my friend Rebecca asking friends for donations to make their blogs pretty could amount to so much. Thank you!

Donation to Half the Sky
Thanks to your donations for blogovers, I donated $100 to Half the Sky tonight. This money will be spent to help take care of children in orphanges in China during this winter's blizzards that have left some orphanges without heat, running water, food, warm clothing, and diapers. Please consider making a donation to this great organization that really makes a difference for so many orphaned children in China.
